Poetic outburst at the content corner

Posted By chaitali   Saturday, February 07, 2009 at 8:31:00 PM

Meet our content camp. Okai… you’ve already met them. But today, meet them in a new avatar. At id8labs, we have four super-sharp content guys, and one guiding force, the team leader Seema. We discovered the poetic side of this group in an exclusive creative session organized by the id8labs content team.

“Poem?….Err…isn’t this word nearly extinct today? Who has the time to brood over rhythmic words that are drenched in emotions?” Such reactions are quiet common today. But, believe me, this unique session turned out to be a super hit. An eye-opener for people who make faces to hear about poems. We began with Abhishek’s words on ‘Darkness".

I closed my eyes
He was still there
I was afraid, he was everywhere
I asked, he said nothing
Suddenly something jerked me
I eyed at it
It was him, laying hands on me
“I would be there, when you need me”
He faded away
I need him, and I closed my eyes.

I have never seen so many colors reflect on a person’s face as Abhishek read the poem. The thought was amazing, so were the carefully picked words of this bundle of talent. We couldn’t stop clapping in the end. Next in turn was Pradeesh. What is striking about Pradeesh as a person is his simplicity. His poem was as simple as his appearance, and his thoughts were as brilliant as his imagination. I was almost frozen to my seat as I realized how simple words can answer such complex questions. His poem ‘With the flow’ is given below.

Standing at the shore,
Looking at the waves.
Wants to be part of the vastness.
Waded till my knees were hidden;
Winning the waves marched ahead,
Till my head was seen.
Waves started controlling my movements.
Gave it a second thought
Lifted my feet,
To be part of the ocean.

Rodlie, our super writer presented yet another piece of his creative genius. This guy has his own unique style of recitation. His words took us to another world. We were bowled over as he poured his heart out in form of ‘Permanent Stains.’

Walking on my knees
With every inch I move
I feel the mud in my veins
I feel pain
I feel anxiety
But I can't stop
Because I have permanent stains
Stains on my body
Stains on my blood
Stains on my soul
Stains on my bones

Rodlie left us craving for more. Seema was the last person who sat on the creative bean bag (our space for creative outburst). She wrote the poem ‘Self-Perception’ years back, when she was a teenager. As she started speaking, her words touched us, and it felt as soothing as a balm; we sat mesmerized at the ambience her words created around us.

If you are seeking perfection
Then I am not the person you want.
If you need someone to make a good impression,
Then I am not the person you need.
For that is me: Imperfect. Unimpressive.
But if you are looking for a friend,
Then here I am in front of you.
If you need to be heard,
Here I am willing to listen.
If you need to vent your anger on someone,
Here I am willing to withstand it.

At the end, we sat silently for sometime. This is something we had never experienced in office. It felt as if we’re sitting far away from the crowd, at the peak of an icy mountain, reflecting our inner thoughts and feelings. I could almost feel the wind on my face…..but then, I realized that it is lunch time. Some deadlines are staring at our face. We had to end the creative session right there, but our hearts craved for more, many more of such enlightening hours.

Ouch! Baby is that next version of our campaign? Or just a miracle!

Posted By ibea   Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 3:42:00 PM

Ouch! Mia, mama!  Alas, am back to the scene! Anybody has got the balls?! Baby! Honey! Mine! On August, 2008 the creative director announced a “Save Tiger” – Campaign Contest 2008 for the creatives at id8labs – and they were divided in small teams – group leader, concept writer, copy writer, graphic designer and so on! And, my boys and girls did a brilliant job! The response and concepts were amazing! It was difficult to choose the top 3! And best of the best! And Mia, Mama! I was so emotional at that time!

Alas, the creative director managed to choose top 3 and one chosen one! It was first posted on cafeid8 on 20th September, 2008! Click here view the actual post!

Can it be a coincidence or inspiration or something else? Now in December, an agency in India, comes out with a similar concept for Sprouts! Mia! Only the one who gave this concept to them knows, how it came! Here is the explanation!

(Original concept first posted on 20th September, 2008 – top 2 by Pradeesh Gopalan of id8labs)

(Less original concept now released by an Indian Agency)

Baby, honey, little one, fairly unethical! You should be original at times! Desperation for awards shouldn’t be this high! Go get peace! And I’ll see you later all you my fans, lovers & bitches!

Love, kisses & peace! Here’s me signing off for now!

Remember those days?
By Rodlie

Wandering in the new corridors of our new hood
The experience has got us all glued
Staring and glaring at the smiling faces
Making gestures and exploring spaces

But remember those days?
That chai ka adda and Anna’s Lays
Those T3 mornings and our famous bakra’s
Treating and flirting with Ajit our chikna

The days of celebrating birthdays in T1
Walking in the mess and having Fun
Goofing with Lynette our loving receptionist
Man we are gonna miss her pretty face at the front desk ;)

The creative den named “Vedam”
and the opposite marketing Bungalow… the place with no name
the stray dogs whom we all scorned at
and the “birds” of that acting class whom we all longed for

Bid an Adieu to those priceless memories
And now we are here to build new stories
We are all under one roof and function as a one body of Mass
Lets get ready id8 to KICK SOME SERIOUS A**
