MAA
Before I could take my first step
She knew I would fall
She held me close to her compassionate hands
Watched me walk since I could crawl
In her womb I laid for days
Gruesome pain she endured
The touch of her hands are so soothing
So delightful, so secure
Her talks at times seem so mundane
Her thoughts and feelings we don’t regard
But when we fall in troubles unimagined
She is right there standing as a guard
Friends, office and night outs
That’s our life never abating
But has this thought ever come across
That maa is still awaiting
For all the mistakes we make
She will take you in her arms
she will share her wisdom and her feelings
and let you be alarmed
mother, maa, mom
are a few of her names
but in my mind
she will always remain
a woman who taught me to live.
She went through the most unbearable pain but it doesn’t takes a minute for us to hurt her that gives her pain that’s much more painful.
You don’t need to tell her what’s on your mind but when it comes to understanding her, even her loud and clear words fall on deaf ears.
Late night with friends, smoke, music and no thought of the one who even on her bed is looking at watch waiting for you to come back.
We just need to make a wish and no matter what she will make that wish come true, let it be wish for a cake or a dress.
She will hold her whenever we are about to fall, wake up whole night so that we sleep well, she holds us tight when we feel scared and makes it sure that no worries touches us.
From holding us safe from nine months to life time to cleaning our nappies, from making our favorite dish to taking our tantrums, from singing lullaby to us to answering our foolish questions, from making us ready for school to waiting for us to come back from office…..
We can’t owe her anything
Let’s just owe our existence to her.
Happy Mother's day Monica, Pramitha and Madhuri and to all wonderful mom's.
